Firm History
BreslinLeCoic was established in early 2013 by the two founding partners, Paul Breslin and Chris Le Coic, to be Australia’s first dedicated HR search firm with the greater purpose of offering development through highly targeted HR leadership & coaching services. Chris pioneered HR recruitment in Australia in the mid 1980’s and in the mid 1990’s started the global leadership consulting firm, LIW.
Paul has over two decades of global executive search experience and since 1998 has built dedicated HR search practices in UK, Europe, Asia and Australia. Joining forces provided the platform to co-develop another first: a firm dedicated to integrating executive search, executive coaching and executive development. We provide deeper insights and advice, well beyond the capabilities of any other firm, by aligning the identification, assessment and development of high potential talent.
We draw on a rich heritage of more than 200 years’ leadership, HR, executive search and consulting experience. We’ve interviewed over 20,000 HR professionals and appointed over 1,000 people into senior HR leadership roles. We are well placed to recognise what top HR performers look like and what great leaders can achieve. Many of the talented individuals we’ve worked with are now HR leaders in Australian publicly listed companies, global multinational corporations, or have moved to other countries to progress their careers. A rare few have moved into business leadership roles, which is our vision for the future: for HR to become a key talent pathway for future business leadership roles and ultimately successors to the CEO. We have seen this begin to happen in recent years and the best companies we work with are not surprised by but deliberately enable this. Our view is these organisations will comprehensively win the war for the best talent in the future and be the most successful businesses with the best leadership teams.

Paul co-founded BreslinLeCoic. He has amassed more than 25 years’ of experience specialising in global executive search for Human Resources roles for clients headquartered in Australia, Asia Pacific, and Europe. His early career includes 6 years in Europe, where he conducted searches for business leadership roles including CEOs, Non-Executive Directors, Chief Financial Officers, Corporate Services, and other C-level roles.
Recognising the increasing demand for world-class HR leaders, he was one of the first to specialise in global HR executive search for clients in Europe, Asia, and Australia from his base in the UK before establishing Australia’s first dedicated HR executive search firm in Sydney in 2013.
Paul’s understanding of what makes executives successful in both business and HR leadership roles makes him uniquely able to identify the most commercially capable HR talent. He also dedicates significant time to developing strategic and commercial strength across the HR function in general. He collaborates closely with a range of industry experts to host immersive experiences for HR leaders, and emerging HR leaders, to build their commerciality. This includes arranging formal learning, mentoring and coaching programs, and facilitated peer forums where HR leaders can learn from one another.
An insightful executive with over 25 years’ experience in business and human resources, Caroline’s experience spans small to large organisations, with professional and front-line workforces and across a range of sectors globally including telecommunications, technology, consumer/retail, not for profit and professional services.
Intuitive, practical and commercial, Caroline’s career is highlighted by executive roles reporting to members of the CEO leadership team at Telstra. These enabled her to demonstrate a capacity for strategy development and delivery; large scale business transformation and complex change governance; talent management; executive coaching and all aspects of Human Resources.
Her passion is making it possible for both individuals and organisations to thrive. As an accredited coach, she has partnered with leaders at all levels across a range of industries and given her broad experience is often sought out as a key strategic advisor.
Caroline holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours from the University of Melbourne, is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a certified organisational coach. She is also accredited in The Leadership Circle ™.
Laura’s commercially oriented human resources search, consulting and advisory work is informed by the wealth of her professional experience.
Before commencing her Human Capital focused portfolio career, Laura was with Bain & Company where she led the Bain Executive Network across Australia and New Zealand. In this role she provided Bain’s former clients, partners, and senior alumni with career coaching support, and she also provided Human Capital advice to Bain’s clients.
Prior to that, Laura managed succession planning, development, and appointments to business-critical roles globally for the ANZ Banking Group. At Egon Zehnder she conducted key executive search and assessment assignments for clients. And her earlier career was spent in the Automotive sector in both Australia and South Africa where she held a range of roles across: manufacturing, engineering, planning, finance, and procurement. This included leading Holden’s Monaro program which in addition to being an Australian icon, was the world’s first fully digitally designed, developed and validated car.
Laura’s experience spans manufacturing, financial services, executive search, professional services, and utilities. She has also worked in MNCs, publicly listed, and privately held organisations and Laura has consulted to very large and smaller businesses. She is a current member of the Industry Funds Management Investors’ (IFM's) Private Equity advisory team where she provides Human Capital advice to the investment team and to IFM’s investee companies who are actively growing the assets of Australia’s superannuees. Laura also chairs a data aggregator start-up operating across the Australasian equine sector called equiprove.
She earned an honours degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Melbourne, she has an MBA from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology where she was awarded the staff prize for being the top student, and Laura also holds executive coach certifications. Laura is motivated by supporting her clients to maximise their workforces’ potential.
Adam has almost 20 years experience in the Human Resources and Executive Search fields. After graduating from university and spending his early career in technology recruitment,
Adam spent the best part of a decade performing senior Human Resources roles in two of Australia’s leading HR teams, Optus and AMP.
Adam now specialises in executive search in the HR and Health & Safety fields. He has successfully worked with a range of Australian and global businesses, from start up to top 50 ASX, and has developed an acute ability to match individual organisational needs and cultures with the style and aspirations of senior HR professionals.
His extensive experience both in corporate Australia and in executive search place him in a unique position to be able to understand, anticipate and empathise with his client’s needs, and to recognise, assess and secure the best HR talent. Adam has a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree from Macquarie University and has undertaken postgraduate study in Human Resources at Deakin University.
